Children and Teens Looking for Easy Halloween Costume Ideas on a Budget

Every year, people buy hundreds of dollars worth of outfits and add-ons to make a big splash when the spookiest night of the year rolls around. I'm referring to Halloween, of course. But why pay all that money particularly if you're on a budget? If you want to keep back some of that hard-earned money, then read on because this article will help you do just that. Teenagers can benefit from these easy to make Halloween costume concepts and you won't have to take out a loan to do it.

When I say "easy" I'm talking about readily available components that are fast and with very little cost. Fantastic costumes can be developed with things you just might currently have available at your house. In fact, these ideas for costumes can likely be supplied by your kids.

For the younger age bracket, you may very well need two costumes, which may come as a shock to most of you. But the simple fact of it is that some kids like dressing up as one personality for their school Halloween party and a wholly different one when it comes time to going through the neighborhood Halloween night to get hold of their candy. Another reason why is that it may be a school's dress code that prevents the child from wearing what they truly want to wear. All the more motive to acquire something that is inexpensive yet something that the kid will take pleasure in. After all, part of the enjoyment of Halloween costumes is the surprise, right?

To start with, look within your child's closet. If your child is like most others, then you should have no difficulty finding a wide selection of play garments. Items that may be found include princess dresses, tiaras, cowboy hats, lassos, themed pajamas, and the list goes on and on. Dress-up bins and closets are basically treasure chests of ideas.

Perhaps you have a young girl who has taken a liking to be a princess. What girl doesn't? Chances are good that you have known about this for a while and have previously acquired a princess dress or a tiara. This will provide you with the basics of the costume. From there you can apply an appropriate amount of makeup, which will most definitely make her feel special. For accessories take into consideration a wand, clip on earrings, perhaps even some shoes that you would not mind spraying with glitter paint. The great thing about this costume is that if you don't have much to put one together, you can easily find what you need at your dollar discount store.

For the girl who is a teen, a princess will not likely be her costume of choice. They're more interested in characters they see in movies (think Twilight), or who they read about or see on TV. Rock stars are always a good standby. In these situations, they're more likely to go through your closet than their's. Finding some old T-shirts and tearing off the sleeves will help with the rock star look. Have a pair of old jeans you don't mind cutting or shredding up a little? Not only is a wig fun, but it also offers the most significant way to alter the teen's look which is what they are going for, naturally.
